I cannot see a trade
Clear search and field filters.
For System Admin users, check the company filter.
For desk users, select the correct company and remember that the desk view loads active trades.
Check whether the trade belongs to another company.
Check whether the trade was created with a different name under the same master category.

For desk users, check that a company is selected.
Clear filters, especially company and field filters.
Check whether all expected trades are inactive in a desk view.
If the company has no trades, add trades manually or import them.
New Trade is not available
Check that your role has trade create permission.
Company Admin users must administer the company they are managing.
The company must be active.
If no master trade items are available, ask an administrator to review global trade setup.
A trade is missing from the add dialog
The add dialog removes trade names that already exist for the company. If a name is not shown, check the Trades list for an existing active or inactive trade with the same name.
Manual add created fewer trades than expected
Check whether some names already existed for the company.
Confirm the selected category contained the expected items.
Refresh the Trades list and clear filters.
Search for the exact trade names that were selected.
Import failed or skipped rows
Use the Trades sheet in the template, a sheet with a recognised trade-name header, or a simple CSV or Excel file.
Every imported row needs a trade name.
Every imported row needs a category before import can run.
Categories must match the available master trade categories.
Duplicate names in the file are skipped.
Names that already exist for the company are skipped.
Rows are skipped if mandatory trade tags are configured and the row has no valid Tag IDs.
Review trade-import-errors.xlsx when the import downloads an error report.
The file uploaded but preview is wrong
Check that the file has a trade-name column in the first column.
Check that blank rows are not being used as separators.
Use the downloaded template if the importer selected the wrong sheet.
Keep descriptions in the second column.
Keep tag IDs in the Tag IDs column or the third column when using a headerless sheet.
Remove merged cells or formatting-only rows before upload.
AI category suggestions did not appear
Check that global trade categories loaded.
Check that the uploaded file produced preview rows.
You can still choose categories manually before import.
If suggestions fail, the import can continue after each row has a selected category.
Import says category is unknown
Choose a category from the preview dropdown instead of typing a new value.
Check whether the category name matches an existing master trade category.
If using a corrected import file, keep category values aligned with available categories.
Download the latest template if the available categories have changed.
I cannot save trade changes
Check trade edit permission.
Fix any required fields on the Overview tab.
Only valid trade tags for the same company can be saved.

Company Admin users must administer the company.
The company must be active.
Tags will not save

Check that the tags are trade tags, not user, project, or other resource tags.
Remove any stale selected tag values and select the tags again.
Confirm the company still has those tags configured.
If any company trade tag is mandatory, leave at least one valid trade tag selected.
Rates are missing on the trade detail page
Check whether rates access control is hiding rates.
Check that rates have been created for the trade and company, project, or supplier context.
If the Rates tab is visible but empty, rates have not been added for that trade.
Rate rows are visible but values are missing
Switch pay type to check CIS, PAYE, and PSC separately.
Switch rate type to confirm you are viewing the expected rate type.
Check whether project-specific rates are hidden under an expandable company rate row.
Check whether piece rates are in the Piece view rather than the Time view.
Requirements are missing
Check whether a competency matrix exists for the trade.
Check whether requirements are linked to the expected sector.
Use the eye icon when it appears to review all available requirement sets.
If no icon appears, there may be no detailed requirement data for the trade.
Export is not available or returns no data
Check that the Trades list has rows loaded.
Check trade export permission.
System Admin users must select a company for export.
Desk users need supplier access to the selected company.
Clear filters if the export scope is not the one you expected.
Changes do not appear downstream
Refresh the downstream page after saving the trade.
Check whether the downstream record stores its own embedded trade data.
Description updates are propagated to embedded trade objects on assignments and requisitions.
Rate and competency display names are refreshed when the trade is updated.
Existing historical records may still reflect the context that was current when they were created.
For agencies: common trade questions
If a trade is missing, confirm you have selected the right hiring company and remember that agency views load active trades only.
If you cannot create, edit, import, or activate trades, that is expected; trade setup is a hiring-company action.
If you cannot export trades, check that your agency has supplier access to the selected company.
If rates are missing or hidden on a trade, check your agency's rate access and confirm the company has added rates for that trade.
If a worker does not match a trade's requirements, review the competency requirements with the hiring company.
If a trade you supply against does not exist, request that the hiring company adds it.
